I have photographed a few Steller’s Jays (Cyanocitta stelleri), including one from the Coastal (stelleri) group and one from the Interior (diademata) group. I photographed one in San Francisco, subspecies Cyanocitta stelleri frontal, and the blue marks on the forehead of the Coastal group can be seen. The one I photographed in Utah was subspecies Cyanocitta stelleri macrolopha, and the white marks on the forehead of the Interior group can be seen.
